Silver Ships Ambar 600 (AM600) workboat was recently delivered to the Candlewood Lake Authority (CLA) in Sherman, Connecticut. The mission of the workboat is to patrol the area covered by Candlewood Lake which includes the City of Danbury and the towns of Brookfield, New Fairfield, New Milford and Sherman.

The CLA Marine Patrol has been providing public safety on Candlewood Lake since 1972. Dedicated to protecting Candlewood Lake, the CLA Marine Patrol promotes responsible recreation, conservation and stewardship of the lake. Marine Patrol Officers of the CLA provide lake, shoreline and watershed management to foster the preservation and enhancement of recreational, economic, scenic, public safety and environmental values.

The 20-foot vessel is powered by a single Suzuki 300HP outboard complete with a dual prop system. The dual prop setup is designed to achieve quick acceleration with higher fuel efficiency at cruising speeds as well as at the top of the RPM range. The patrol boat features an open center console and is equipped with a FLIR camera providing long-range, low-light visibility with thermal integration to facilitate both nighttime navigations and search and rescue operations. It also includes a twin-display Garmin electronics package with live sonar and radar screens.

This delivery is the second of three Ambar 600 series workboats ordered by the Candlewood Lake Authority. In addition to this order, Silver Ships is currently in the early stages of designing a fourth vessel that will be utilized for marine research. Silver Ships is proud to deliver vessels across the United States, including the Candlewood Lake Authority.
